What are your favorite strategies for motivating your team?

Motivation comes in multiple forms and fashions however, all forms stem from a designed alliance.  Simply listening to your team members builds a culture of trust and transparency which is fundamental to the design of an alliance.  So, motivation strategy number one - listen - and by listen, I mean actively listen, not in a linear race to finish but with intention and awareness.  

Encourage creativity among your team by asking questions which evoke curiosity.  This shifts mindsets across the team and moves exchanges from surface level to one of discovery and learning.  

Assume your team members are naturally resourceful and creative.  Each individual has the tools to get the job done.  As a leader, your priority is to champion talent development by steering curiosity.
